Weekly programme
The form is but a random movement and has no value unless conscious intent directs the moving centre. Then the form is infused with life spirit.

The class is closely aligned to Patrick’s methodology, enabling those who wish to further refine their training to do so.
Programme: The ongoing nature of the class enables specific themes and training principles to be developed each term. These are considered in both loosening exercises, form and fixed pattern Push Hand sets.
Short Form Development Group
The Development Group meets once a month for Short Form and Fixed Pattern Push Hands. To attend this group it is desirable to know the choreography of the 37 Move Short Form.
Contact Luke for further details about the class.
The Development Group is currently run by Andrew Broadhead
Aims: The aim of the Development Group Session is to offer a class for those who wish to learn the internal aspects of the Cheng Man Ching Form. Initially set up as a Development Group for students of the Devon School of Tai Chi, the Development Group is by invitation to all who have completed the Choreography of the 37 Movement Short Form.
It is encouraging to see 2 schools working together for the development of Taiji understanding, a rare phenomenon in the world of Taiji!

Open Palm Taiji School
Weekly classes have been running in Exeter since 1999 and offer a thorough and systematic Taiji training as inspired by the teachings of Patrick Kelly. Patrick is renowned internationally for his depth of understanding within Taiji and his work is based on his training with Master Huang Xiangxian of Malaysia. As a student of Patrick Kelly, the school represents Luke’s understanding of Patrick’s teaching.
The school offers a system of training that will lead each student to tap into their own inner resources. In doing so, an inner understanding of the art of Taiji and of themselves will be established both physically and energetically.
Ongoing training with visiting senior teachers is available throughout the year.
